Daily Doses of Perception/70

The world seems to be nothing but a joke. Very serious at that. Judge Aileen Cannon, appointed by Donald himself in 2020 for the Southern District of Florida, uses a non-binding sidenote by Supreme Court Justice Thomas, also appointed by Trump, to cast doubt on the legality of the appointment of special counsel Jack Smithto stop what may be the clearest case against him. Of course, the case will be appealed, but another year will pass before the trumped-up Supreme Court makes a decision.

The Democrats: Too woke to govern?

From this perspective, the Democrats seem too woke to govern. Higher intelligence is usually not a solution; if you rely on rationality and honor, you're lost. Academic arrogance is added to the mix and the fiasco is complete. How can you actually manage to squander such a great opportunity, to clear the air and to some extent secure the planet in four years of rule? A little pragmatic coldness and killer instinct would not hurt in this context; only then would you have superiority over emotional chaos.

But a lot will still happen before the election, the election of the decade. Will it be a lost or a won?

Europe: A continent in crisis

This does not only apply to the Biden administration. The liberal, democratically minded people are even more likely to be taken for a ride in Europe. Dozens of Russian murders and attacks, cyberattacks, obvious bot campaigns, the creation of migration crises - our continent is an embarrassing circus of people who put up with it. Cowardice, corruption? Probably a mix of both. And an ethical farce that tends towards economic indifference.

The Right: No panic, just concern?

There is no panic about the right either, at most there is concern about losing one's own advantages or sharing them with the right. German Federal Presidents hold hands with Russian Foreign Ministers, nothing changes in the heart even if people babble about new values and views afterwards.

To clarify, it is important to note that I take these amicable images that were taken at the time seriously; you can tell whether something is fake or is full of warmth, and the saddest thing about it is that the past is more convincing. It is not just Germany that is affected by this; we have similarly bizarre visual memories in Austria and probably many other countries.

Dig through the archives, editorial offices of the world and take what you find more seriously.

Donald Trump: The Invincible Saint?

But now our Donald is holy - the man cannot be killed. And an era of even more insane madness seems to be approaching. I have no desire to panic, every nation gets what it deserves. Why even question marks, at least in essentially free societies this statement can be endorsed.

And honesty must also be done; on the one hand, there is certainly a certain chance that the hope that Trump's efforts to achieve moderation and unity in these times of great division are serious, and his religious worship in particular can help with this. Since it is seen as a sign from God, since he survived with only minor injuries through incredible luck, there is an even more intense sacred atmosphere in MAGAland. Scary Times.

On the other hand, year after year we experience a greater

Gap between theory and practice

I read a lot of clever essays about what and why those who are left behind or who feel ignored do and don't do, written by people who think that with reason you can understand the freak, who is clearly not one.

Things are rarely as they seem. Least of all in sociological arrogance.

In this real interaction that never took place, not from above, but as an investigative journalist would do, lies the worm that bothers me.

My own failures and hopes are very often good signposts for me, and that is also one of the positive implications; the ball may swing and swing in the bowl, but if it doesn't actually spill out, sooner or later it will come to rest at the center.

A look into the future

Political disasters every hour - I am not surprised at all, but I am happy and motivated to look for new answers and perspectives. It is not surprising chaos, but it is self-made. We live in this extremely delicate and at the same time absurdly pulsating body of civilization, this almost spiritual process. The world is far from the abyss - no, let's stop the sleight of hand of threats, but let's be aware of how difficult it is for every bubble, every culture, every gender, every generation, to keep up with this transformation process.

The offers of the political structure and social bonding bodies are caught in the same problematic as those entrusted to them. The planet steams and munches, existence thunders.

The rescue comes from Spain. A pleasant get-together with the

Red Fury

, Spain is masterful, where politics stumbles along at a local level.

I am back in the positive emotion of enjoying the pure joy of the players and the crowd. Football has not been a great comfort to me for a long time, for understandable reasons, but it is good to be able to fall back on this old passion for a few hours. There was too much information in my head and gut.

Spain beat England and are deserved European champions. Despite many years of not having a ball, hardly anything has changed here either. Spain wins, England fails, Germany is where it belongs: a tolerable host and an average team with a terrible infrastructure.

I am comfortably caustic, I do not want to be a provocative person, I like to use all these clichés to put my finger on the sore spot, but I still completely deny that there is no opportunity to change, that we are at the mercy of all this and can only respond with violence or hatred and/or fear of God. I think that whether in politics or sport, in everyday life or in the adverse diversity problems of our strange era, there is alternative, encouraging beauty everywhere at every moment.

The choice and agony of freedom, which became skewed with the expulsion from paradise, and which seems never to end. I'm adding religious themes here. Factual reports from a master atheist, strange schizophrenia.

And yet, this anxious need to believe in something is everywhere today. Which in turn indicates what a difficult, turbulent time we are living in.

I'm reminded of this study from England in which they found that mindfulness exercises in schools tended to have a negative influence. Daily Doses of Perception is on the same level.

Happy is he who forgets. Only people with established personalities should read me for a longer period of time.
